Safar-e-Dasmesh is dedicated to the extensive research, documentation, and presentation
of ancient sites and historical traces associated with Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s final
and progressive journey—from Takhat Shri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda (Punjab)
to Takhat Shri Hazur Sahib, Abchal Nagar, Nanded (Maharashtra).
This journey of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was not merely a geographical travel; rather,
it was a symbol of the spiritual advancement of Sikhism, the propagation of Gurmat
ideology, and the message of unity among all religions. During this journey, Guru Sahib
Ji conveyed to the Rajput rulers the message to unite and fight collectively against
oppression and injustice, and to live a life of freedom and independence.
Along this route, Guru Sahib Ji passed through Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar
Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, enlightening the people of numerous regions
with the spiritual teachings of Akal Purakh. Upon the completion of this journey, Guru
Sahib Ji bestowed Guruship upon Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and placed the Khalsa Panth
under the authority of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, thereby blessing the principles of
Guru Granth and Guru Panth to remain eternal for all ages.
The decisive decisions to send Baba Banda Singh Bahadur towards Punjab to eradicate
tyranny and establish Sikh rule also highlight the significance of this route. All the
historical, geographical, and traditional dimensions of this unparalleled and
extraordinary journey of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji will be given the form of a
comprehensive historical volume.
The uniqueness of this history is of immense importance also because very limited
descriptions are available concerning this particular period of Shri Guru Gobind Singh
Ji’s life.
The objective of Safar-e-Dasmesh Research Service is to identify the stages of this
great journey of Sikh history, preserve them in digital form, and establish a spiritual
connection with future generations through historical inspiration.
